Training Overview

Training Overview
The overall objective of the Council on Accreditation Training Department is to assist human service organizations on their journey towards successfully achieving private, public, Canadian, Military & Family Readiness, Hague and Child & Youth Development accreditation and re-accreditation by offering quality training, tools and resources.
COA is proud to deliver an array of training courses accessible through a variety of formats such as face-to-face, live webinar, recorded webinar, self-paced and customized. These training opportunities provide staff with a hands-on understanding of COA’s accreditation process and the private, public, Canadian, Military & Family Readiness, Hague and Child & Youth Development standards; how to document implementation; and how to complete the self-study, prepare for the site visit and more.
Please use the search and filter feature on the training calendar to find all relevant training under the applicable accreditation program in the format of your choice. Our training programs are available in several formats:
- FACE-TO-FACE TRAININGS: in-person live trainings that provide in-depth, hands on understanding of COA’s accreditation and re-accreditation process, the standards, how to document implementation, prepare the self-study document and get ready for the site visit.
- WEBINAR AND RECORDED WEBINAR TRAININGS: web-based live and recorded trainings that provide organizations with training on process-related topics designed to help them gain core competencies, skills, and knowledge so they get the most out of their accreditation and re-accreditation process.
- SELF-PACED TRAININGS: pre-recorded self-paced trainings that provide a brief and informative overview of some of the most important aspects of the standards and accreditation and re-accreditation process.

In addition, to these general training opportunities COA offers customized technical assistance designed for human service organizations to address specific needs related to the COA accreditation and reaccreditation process.
